Editorial policy
Eastern News Briefing aims to make news literacy clear, fair and useful. We explain reporting choices without asking readers to accept a claim simply because it appears in a news report.
Accuracy and sources
We check factual statements against material appropriate to the subject and make the basis for important claims clear in the article. When a point is uncertain, contested or limited by the information available, we say so rather than smoothing over the gap.
Independence and judgement
Editorial decisions are made for reader relevance and clarity. A contributor, partner or other outside interest does not determine our conclusions, and we do not present opinion as established fact.
Corrections
If you spot a material error, contact us with the article and the detail in question. We assess the information and amend the wording when warranted, making significant corrections clear to readers.
Partners and illustrations
Sponsored or partner material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, they are labelled.
